Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass starts life right here in the USA. Southwest Greens, part of Shaw Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company, and all our turf fibers are extruded and tufted in Shaw’s American factories. Cutting-edge automation and Lean/Six Sigma practices ensure consistent quality to meet industry-leading standards. When you book to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can rest assured that you’re installing durable U.S.-made artificial turf.

American Manufacturing: We manufacture through Shaw’s facilities, including our Dalton, GA plant. Ongoing upgrades in Shaw’s factories maintain fiber precision and quality.

Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, our process covers every manufacturing phase. That enables us to maintain steady color and pile consistency, faster response for any warranty or service issue, and transparent production data for troubleshooting.

Rigorously Tested: Before any turf reaches you, it’s proven in Shaw’s labs and fields. We test in a 13,000 sq. ft. indoor facility and 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test sites to mimic extended real-world conditions. Blades are tested for colorfastness, durability, and ball/athlete interactions, so your artificial lawn or putting green keeps its look and feel without fading over time.

CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION

We regularly enhance our turf to be better-performing and long-lasting. Some of our latest breakthroughs include:

Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: Our Bolt fiber has a patented lightning-bolt cross-section. It retains its shape longer than standard turf, surpassing conventional wear tests by 2x. Its unique shape and curved angles reduce shininess, giving the turf a natural matte finish.

HydroChill® Cooling: We offer HydroChill® infill beads that can cool your turf by 30–50°F. This simple water-activated technology is perfect for warm-weather lawns and putting greens, keeping your lawn walkable for pets and people.

Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are built to drain water and pet waste efficiently. No more muddy paw prints indoors. And the way our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste stops bacteria and smell accumulation.

Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to show off your identity? Our Creaturf™ program lets you design turf with embedded branding or designs. From branded backyard putting greens to decorative pet turf, this feature offers unlimited creative control.

CUSTOMIZED TO YOU

We collaborate with clients, golf pros, and experts to ensure our artificial turf solve practical challenges. Feedback from golfers inspired us to develop a realistic “spring green” color that creates visual harmony. Little details like this help our turf lead in Oakley residential and commercial spaces.

We also create specialized systems tailored to any environment — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.

We take fake grass installation seriously. Proper installation is an art. Our synthetic turf replicates real course playability. That’s why pros like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam endorse Southwest Greens products. And because we’re supported by Shaw’s industry-leading portfolio, we can adjust fibers, infill, or pile height to your specs.

LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND

Innovation never stops at Southwest Greens. Expect groundbreaking updates in 2026! The Shaw Sport Turf shared that customers will help pick upcoming field designs and that a new “Game ON” turf model (made in Calhoun, GA) will hit the market in 2026.

This playful spirit and technology will be available in landscaping products soon. We can’t spill all the details yet, but know for certain, our R&D team is hard at work on the next generation of artificial grass.

Next-gen products will be shaped by testing and user input, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
